The fine print
Privacy policy

The short version: My Little Shop collects nothing. Not a thing.
My Little Shop is a pretend-play shop and cash register game for children, published by Nick La Rosa, a software developer based in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains how the app handles information, and applies to the iOS and Android versions.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app does not collect, store or transmit personal information - from children or from anyone else. Specifically:
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, no login, no email address, no username.
- No internet use. The app makes no network requests. It works entirely offline and does not need a connection to function.
- No analytics. We do not measure usage, count sessions, or record which features are used.
- No advertising of any kind, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party software that collects data - no analytics kits, no advertising networks, no crash-reporting services.
- No links out of the app to websites or social media.
Where your child's shops are kept
Everything created in the app - shops, products, prices, pretend sales, table bookings - is saved only on the device itself. Nothing is uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with anyone.
Because none of it ever leaves the device, we have no copy of it. Deleting the app deletes everything with it, and we cannot recover it. The grown-ups area on the home screen can save a backup file, which you keep and control yourself.
The camera
The app can scan barcode and QR stickers that it printed itself, so that a printed sticker rings up on the pretend till. The camera is used only for this.
Frames from the camera are read on the device to look for a code and are then discarded. No photo or video is ever captured, saved, stored or transmitted. If you decline the camera permission, every other part of the app continues to work normally.
Printing
Printing uses your device's own printing system. What you print is sent from your device to your printer, and never to us.
The optional purchase
The app is free, and offers a single optional one-off purchase that unlocks extra features. It is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their own privacy policies.
We never see, receive or store your payment details, your name, or your account information. The app asks the app store whether the purchase has been made and remembers the answer on your device. That is the only information involved, and it stays on the device.
Children
This app is made for young children, and is designed so there is nothing to collect in the first place - which is a stronger protection than any promise about how data would be handled.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, or from anyone else, because the app collects no personal information at all. It complies with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the GDPR, by the simple method of not gathering anything.
The purchase, and the backup feature, both sit behind a grown-ups-only check that a young child cannot pass.
Your rights
Rights to access, correct or delete personal information do apply to us, but there is nothing for them to act on: we hold no personal information about you or your child, so there is nothing to send you, correct or erase. If you would like to confirm that, please write to us.
Changes to this policy
If this ever changes - for example if a future version of the app gained a feature that needed the internet - we will update this page and the date at the top, and the app's App Store and Google Play privacy details will be updated to match before that version is released.
